A Wee Scottish Blog

Monday, 6 May 2013

So this Blog is just going to be a mixture of all things Scottish that I have been enjoying/up to this weekend.

Firstly lets start with some serious exercising. There is a Glasgow PT called Ross Stewart who also runs classes, a blog and is generally on hand for all things well being wise. He recently started a new ladies only weight lifting programme on a Saturday moring (8am, yikes!) at Future Fitness in Shawlands. I have been converted over the last year or so that weights are the way to change your body, Ross has written plenty of posts on this so I will link his blog at the end for you all to gander through.
Easily the worst bit about weights is having to go into the normally male dominated weights room. Besides the grunting and staring, rarely things are free! To combat this Ross has organised for us lady folk to have the run of the Future Fitness gym before it opens, obviously all under the watchful eye of himself. I really enjoyed Saturdays class and was definitely feeling the burn in all the right places come Sunday. If you are in the Glasgow area I would recomend having a look at Ross Stewart PT's facebok/twitter to get all details for the coming weeks classes. Lets get lean ladies.
Carrying on with all things Scottish I caught up on a very interesting programme on BBC2 all about Entrepreneurs in Scotland, called The Entrepreneurs. Having dabbled with the idea of starting my own business in the past (it didn't quite work out), it was great to see all the different businesses and the support they were offered. Not to mention the fact that they were all Scotland based, who knew we were such a talented bunch. It is only a 2 episode series so if you interested in documentaries then I would recommend giving this a watch. You may even recognise a few faces!
Lastly, last night I was at my Brother-in-law's surprise 30th birthday party. This was held in  Apartment 29 at 29- The Grill At the Square, which is in Glasgow's Royal Exchange Sqaure.
This is a beautiful venue, and it was a really lovely evening. Everyone was all dressed up and there were plently of embarrassing photos doing the rounds! We had a golf inspired cake made by a companly called tiers, the cake was so delicious and turned our perfectly.
So I may have gone a little braveheart on you all there but Scotland has been the place to be this weekend!
