The Water Aid

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

At the beginning of this year I set a few goals, and in them was to drink more water and keep myself hydrated. It's fair to say that I have been on an off this wagon.

Recently though I have re made this commitment and it is going well, the key...a straw. Yes, and actual drinking straw. I have no idea why, or if there even is any logic behind this, but drinking water through a straw just makes me drink more, quicker. Whatever works right? Just now I am averaging round just under 2 litres a day, sometimes more.

To shake up my new straw love, from your run of the mill 500ml bottle with a straw dancing about it I purchased these jam jar cups from Costco for about £12. They are perfect for work, around the house as I type this blog I have one beside me enticing me to drink it all up! They really are handy and these new additions have just made it a lot easier. As the weather has been warm in Glasgow they have also became the perfect sunbathing drink holder.

I honestly can't encourage you enough to start increasing our water intake if you don't already. It has made me more alert, less fatigued, my skin has a glow and overall I just feel like I am functioning better now that I am hydrated.

Drink it up, and then pour another glass and drink it too. That's my motto right now... and long may it reign.

  1. I have a really pretty teal coloured glass bottle (from Ikea I think) that's kept in the fridge and put on the table at meal times. Like your straws, I'm not sure why but I always drink at least two glasses when it's there. A slice of cucumber in the glass makes it even more yummy. Aren't we a bit weird?!

  2. Cucumber in water is the most refreshing thing! I am right there with you. Now if there is two of us who use weird ways to make us drink water, surely this makes it less weird..? That's what I am telling myself anyway! x
