Quick Summer Essential

Friday, 20 June 2014

Well, where did this sunshine come from? Who cares, right? It's here and I am basking in it as much as I can! Living in Scotland means that there is no real set season for sunshine, it just appears and people fill beer gardens, parks and "taps aff" is the 5th word out everyones mouth. This lack of notice of the sunshine, causes one thing...quick summer essentials!

Polish- I always gravitate towards a nail polish that will compliment a tan ( If I am lucky enough to be sporting one! For me this has to be a pick from Essie Cute as a Button or there new launch Romper Room. Perfect tan enhancers.

Tan- We can't all be golden goddesses as soon as the sun looks at us, and unfortunately I fall into this category. I recently used St Tropez Self Tan Express. This is a new find, but a favourite straight away. It goes on like a mousse, and as you would expect from St Tropez gives the perfect golden. But, the best bit is it develops in 3 hours meaning you can shower it off before bed saving your sheets. Genius.

Hair- It's not secret that I am a salt spray lover and the sunshine just gives me an excuse to use this every day. Perfect for the morning if you wash your hair as the sun on the way to work will dry there rest for you. I have been using the Mark Hill Beach Babe and creates some lush waves.

Skin- Don't be crazy and get some sunscreen on your body and face! No ones aim is to look like the gran from Benidorm when they are older. Protect your skin. With no aftersun kicking about I have been reaching for my old faithful Emma Hardie Body Butter in the evenings and Origins Drink me up to help with slight burns ( I know, I know, i hate myself too!) and try and keep everything hydrated.

Water- Drink it, lots of it. Especially in the heat. I have stepped my water consumption up over the last 2 weeks and I can not tell you the difference it has made.

Lastly, soak it all up!! The Sun gives us Vitamin D, known as the happy vitamin...why would we not want copious amounts of this, catch those rays.
